Lab-Grown Diamond Earrings vs Natural

All lab-grown diamond earrings we sell are exclusively IGI certified, laser-inscribed with their report number and grade, and physically identical to mined diamonds.

Because earrings require two matched stones, the cost advantage of choosing lab-grown is more significant than it is for a single-stone piece: both diamonds are colour-matched and graded to the same IGI standard across cut, colour, clarity, and carat.

Earrings with natural diamonds are available across the collection for those who prefer them.

Diamond Earring Styles and Shapes

Our women’s diamond earrings cover three main styles: stud, drop and Toi Et Moi.

  • Diamond stud earrings are the most versatile: a single stone per ear, available in round, oval, pear, emerald cut, and radiant shapes. Studs work across every occasion and can be worn for everyday wear, as well as formal events.
  • Diamond drop earrings use a secondary setting beneath the main stone, giving more movement and presence on the ear.
  • Toi Et Moi earrings style features two different stones per earring in a paired setting, and sits apart from the rest as the more distinctive choice in the collection.

On shape, round brilliant is the most consistent choice for lab-grown diamond stud earrings and offers maximum light return. Oval diamonds elongate the ear and have a more contemporary feel. Pear cut and emerald cut both suit drop settings particularly well.

Choosing a Carat Weight for Diamond Earrings

Earring carat weights are expressed per stone and as a total across both earrings. A 0.5ct per stone stud is a 1ct total weight earring. This is worth understanding when comparing styles across different jewellers.

For subtle, everyday diamond stud earrings, most wearers sit between 0.5ct and 0.75ct per stone. For a more visible and statement-led pair, 1ct per stone and above delivers real presence on the ear.

Choosing lab-grown diamond earrings lets you select a larger stone without increasing your budget, since each stone costs significantly less than a comparable natural diamond.

Diamond Earrings and Ear Stacking

Diamond earrings work well as part of an ear stack. A round brilliant or oval stud in the dominant piercing paired with a smaller design is one of the most popular stylings in fine jewellery right now. The collection includes options across different carat weights, making it straightforward to build a cohesive stack across piercing positions.

Diamond Earrings as a Gift or for Yourself

Women’s diamond earrings are one of the most bought pieces in fine jewellery, both as gifts and as self-purchases. They suit birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations, and are one of the strongest choices when you want to give something that will suit daily wear as well as special occasions.

If you are buying as a gift and are unsure of style, round brilliant diamond stud earrings like Rose, Peyton or Josephine are always a great choice.

Frequently asked questions

Are lab-grown diamond earrings real diamonds?

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are physically, chemically, and optically identical to natural diamonds, graded by the same Four Cs criteria and, at Paragon, exclusively IGI certified. The only difference from mined diamonds is their origin. All lab-grown diamonds in our collection are real diamond earrings in every meaningful sense. For more details, read our IGI certification.

What is the best size diamond stud for everyday wear?

For everyday diamond stud earrings, most wearers find 0.5ct to 0.75ct per stone the most practical choice. This gives a clear presence in the ear without being heavy or catching on clothing. A 0.5ct per stone stud is a 1ct total weight earring. If you want more visibility while keeping the design wearable daily, 1ct per stone is a strong middle ground.

Are diamond earrings worth buying?

Diamond earrings are one of the most durable and versatile pieces in fine jewellery. Unlike fashion earrings, a well-made pair of diamond stud earrings holds its quality indefinitely and works across every occasion. Lab-grown diamond earrings make the category significantly more accessible without any compromise on the diamond itself.

Can I get bespoke diamond earrings made at Paragon?

Yes. Our bespoke design service covers earrings as well as rings. You can specify diamond shape, setting style, carat weight per stone, and metal. To get started, book a bespoke appointment with Yalda.
